Acting truly out of love

It is not easy to be selfless. Humans tend to be very me-focused. Evidence the many memes that say things that make you ask yourself if you are being taken advantage of, or if you are appreciated. But these are questions that are only pertinent if the reasons you have done things for another are about YOU – they are totally invalid questions if the things you do are truly for the benefit of someone else. If so, then the only questions you have to ask yourself is whether the things you do really are of benefit to the other person – and what your motivation was to do them to begin with. If you are doing something out of love, and it benefits someone you love, then there is no “taking advantage”, there is no “not being appreciated”, there is only love being offered, and love being given.
